Spring Beauty Trends - Part Two
Welcome back beauties! Today is the last instalment of my Spring Trends series (although again it still doesn't feel like Spring here - it literally snowed today), so let's round up the final five trends from my Top Ten Beauty Trends for Spring inspired by the runways of Fashion Week.
Don't forget to check out the rest of my Spring Trends series, which includes the first part of my Top Ten Beauty Trends and my Top Ten Spring Fashion Trends!
Now let's get down to it!

Now let's get down to it!
6. You're Making Me Blush
This trend is so delicate and feminine. Now although this was shown mostly on the eyes on the runways, you can totally find blush tone shades for every part of the face. If you want to wear this trend through blush, be careful because some lighter pink shades will look ashy on darker skin tones and won’t appear at all on some lighter skin tones. There are so many shades of pink out there so make sure to test them out to see if they’ll work with your skin tone. This also apples for light pink lipsticks so be careful and always test try before you buy!
7. Inked Out
Bold, inky eyeliner looks were seen all over the runways this season. It just doesn’t cut it to have a thick pencil liner look anymore. Now it’s all about clean, inked out lines and sharp precise angles. Of course, with this trend comes the infamous cat eye and winged out eyeliner looks. If you’re like me and can just never get the winged eyeliner perfect, try starting out at the natural corner of your eye and make a line from the natural angle of your eye. Then create a outline of the eyeliner above your lash line starting from the inner corner of your eye moving out. When you reach near the end of your lid, simply connect the angular line you made at the corner of your eye to the one you made above your lash line then just fill in the blank! Remember practice makes perfect so don’t beat yourself up if you can’t get it right the first time. Don’t be afraid to have fun trying different liner shapes!
8. Colour Up
Colour, colour and more colour! Yes, the runways this season were filled with beautifully vibrant and colourful makeup! I can’t see a better way to step into Spring than with a pop of colour. The limits are endless for this trend but the most popular use of colour on the runways was as an eyeshadow. If you really want your look to pack a punch, use a pigment and when applying it wet your brush to help make the colour more vibrant. You can even try bright pink or purple lip colours as an ode to colour. This trend is the epitome of fun so don’t be afraid to be bold when wearing this trend!
9. Metallic Love
This is the most luxe trend of all. The main metallic tones that were seen on the runways were gold, bronze and copper. All rich, earthy tones. Gold was seen on the eyes while bronze and copper were seen on the skin. For gold, it’s all about a very rich and pigmented shadow. For the bronze and copper tones, it was all about bronzed, illuminated skin. If you’re ready to commit to an all out gold look, look for a gold pigment that’ll bring the richness of the gold to life on your eyes. If you're looking for something more subtle, you can always just use a touch of eyeliner or gold shadow on the waterline. For bronzed skin, try any bronzing product you’d like but without shimmer. The bronzed look goes hand in hand with the au natural look mentioned in last week’s post so you want to your skin to have a natural bronzed look rather than one with sparkle. To give your skin an overall glow though, you can try mixing an illuminator with your foundation for a seamlessly glowing look.
10. Head Gear
I just had to include at least one hair trend in my beauty favourites and this by far is the best one! So many runways has everything from headbands to jewelled out clips on their models. What I love about this trend is that their is a hair accessory for every occasion! My favourites though have to be tricked out bobby pins. Plain bobby pins are a thing of the past - the new thing now are embellished bobby pins with anything from sparkles to jewels. And it’s completely up to you how you want to style it. My favourite shop for any hair accessories has to be shopbando.com - they have everything from headbands to the embellished bobby pins. This trend is also perfect for the upcoming festival season where you can totally sport fun hair accessories like flower crowns. Be bold and have fun with this trend!
