Spring Beauty Trends 2014 - Part One
Welcome back beauties! Keeping with the spring has sprung theme, today I thought I’d share my top 10 beauty trends for spring inspired by the runways of Fashion Week. Now similar with my fashion trends, there were so many amazing beauty ones that I just had to split it into two posts - so stay tuned next week for the second part!
For now, let’s get started with the first five!
1. Orange Is The New Red
Yes it is! This by far was one of the BIGGEST beauty trends on all the runways this Fashion Week. Every runway had models sporting this bright and electric look. Move over red, there’s a new shade in town and it’s more vibrant than ever. If you’re not afraid of colour, I recommend using concealer on your lips first to neutralize your natural lip colour to allow the true colour of the lipstick to come through. Then just apply straight from the tube! However, if you’re looking for a more subtle look, try an orange gloss or even just use your fingers to stamp the lip colour on for a stained effect. The colours range from true oranges to slightly redder oranges so it’s really up to you to decide which shade is right for you! Don’t be afraid to experiment!

2. Au Natural
The “no-makeup” makeup look will forever be a classic. Many of the runways this season had fresh faced models walk the runway. Of course for everyday life the no makeup makeup look is perfect! The key is to not cake your face - simplicity is key. Instead of a full face of foundation why not try just spot concealing? Find creamy and easy blend able formulas that disappear when applied. I think concealer palettes are great for this because you can not only use one colour to cover up, but the other colours can act as subtle highlights or even contours to give a little dimension to your face. If you still want some foundation, opt for a lighter formula or better yet, a BB cream. As for everything else, again keep it as simple as possible - a little blush to give you a natural flush, some lip balm or even a sheer gloss - remember simple.

3. Feeling Blue
This season, runways were flooded with a strong, deep blue. But this isn’t just a light dusting. This is a rich pigmented blue. You can use anything from a pressed eyeshadow to loose pigment but the best way to achieve this look is to wet your brush before dipping it into the product. This will build the intensity of the eyeshadows and cause them to appear more vibrant. You can work this midnight blue into a smokey eye or for a more subtle look just line your waterline with an eyeshadow or a midnight blue liner.

4. Radiant Orchid
This trend is just that - radiant. Radiant orchid was revealed as the Colour of the Year by Pantone and it has just blown up everywhere. What I love about this trend is that it works with just about everything and everyone. If you aren’t afraid of this bold trend there are numerous lipsticks out there from a pale orchid to a more richer orchid. But if you want to work this into an everyday look, try a radiant orchid blush. No matter how you wear this trend, you just can’t go wrong.

5. Bold Brows
Bold brows are the way to go. This trend catapulted after the queen of brows herself Cara Delevingne took to the runways and now everyone is trying to achieve this look. You can really use any brow product you’d like from a powder, wax or pencil. When filling in your brows though, try extending the natural width of your brow just a little to give the illusion of a fuller brow. But remember bold brows doesn't mean bold lines! Use a spoolie brush to blend out any harsh lines to achieve a more natural look and finish it off with a brow gel to make sure every hair stays in place.
